Hello everyone, because is such a hype to remove your make-up with micellar waters I thought I should test several and see what cleans best but first lets see what is this micellar water.
Micellar water takes its name from micelles, tiny round balls of cleansing molecules that float in the water.
When you apply the product to your skin, the cleansing agents come into
contact with oil and dirt on your face, allowing them to be swept away
quickly and efficiently.
I chose 3 affordable micellar waters: 2 from drugstore and 1 pharmaceutical, all of them affordable and popular : GARNIER Skin Naturals Micellar Water for sensitive skin, NIVEA 3in1 Micellar Water for sensitive skin and Ziaja Spa Marine Algae Micellar Water for dry and normal skin 30 +
For the past year I have been using GARNIER on a daily base and I love this product because it works so good for my skin (dry and sensitive ) and it works amazing for lips and for the eye area without causing any irritation. I am happy I can buy it in this huge format of 400 ml because its a great product and I always use a tons of these micellar waters. The formula has no perfume and no parabens and very few ingredients: water mixed with glycerin and Hexylene Glycol.
Hexylene Glycol is a solvent and viscosity agent used in many skin care products that can create small irritation to certain skin types and skin conditions.
My skin is prone to eczema but I have to say that using this micellar water did not increase the irritation level and it was super gentle on my skin. According to the label there is no need to rinse this product off, but I removed it with thermal water spray and my skin condition improved since I removed every trace of micellare water from my skin.
It removes makeup really good and easy without leaving behind any irritation or redness.
NIVEA 3in1 Micellaire Water for sensitive skin comes only in a small format of 200 ml, it has no perfume, colorants or parabens.
I usually don't even get along with products from Nivea and I never got attracted to what they sell but a friend of mine made me really curious about this micellar water and I had to try it and see what am I missing.
Compared with GARNIER Skin Naturals Micellair Water, NIVEA has a longer ingredient list that features dexpanthenol, hydrogenated castor oil, grape seed oil and also gylcerin. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid, a B complex vitamin also called D-panthenol.
The formula is super gentle and perfect for eyes as well and there is no need to rinse it off. I was really impressed by this product, it EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATION !
It removes makeup really good and easy without leaving behind irritation or redness.
Regarding price, I think this micellar water is a little bit more expensive than the one from GARNIER.
ZIAJA Spa Marine Algae Micellar Water, for dry and normal skin 30 + was one of my skin care curiosity and I had to try it. This product can be bought online or in pharmacy, it's been sold almost everywhere in Europa and it has a friendly price, around 5 euro. The product comes in a blue bottle of 200ml, same format as NIVEA and has the following active ingredients :
algae enteromorpha compressa, hydro-retinol, algae laminaria digitate, provitamin B5 (D-panthenol).
This product is also a mix of water and glycerin as main ingredients just like the micellar water from Garnier, but with a little bit of extras.
I find this product quite tonic but still gentle and refreshing, probably the most refreshing from all of the micellar waters tested for this post.
It may be used by contact lens wearers and I think is great to have such a product available but whenever I use it around my eyes it softly burns and stings. There is no redness or dryness or severe irritation but there is a slightly discomfort in my eye area whenever I used this product.
Dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, fragrance free and non rinse formula.
When it comes to cleaning and removing makeup, this product is not as good as the other 2 micellar waters mentioned above. According to ZIAJA, this micellar water will soothes irritations and reduce skin tension but I haven't been convinced so far. I do like the fact that it doesn't dry out skin and it feels quite moisturizing.
I was a little bit disappointed of this product.
To my surprise, NIVEA has the micellar water that cleans the best without creating any irritation or skin sensitivity..... so, today the winner is NIVEA 3in1 Micellar Water for sensitive skin !
Have you tried any of this products ? How do they work out for you ?
This post wasn't sponsored and none of the products were gifted to me or anything like that.
